No School on Friday, the 26th.  Teacher Work Day.

Thanks to everyone who supported the Fundraiser! 

Math–We are finishing the unit on rounding, estimating, and adding and subtracting whole numbers and decimals.  Test on Wednesday.  We will be doing an investigation into “Palindrome Numbers” on Thursday. Students may come home over the weekend with some extra-challenging math based on their in-class investigation.  Enjoy!!

Word Study–We began learning about Word Origins with our first lesson into the roots uni- and mono- which mean “one”  Students took notes and are learning 5 new vocabulary words:

monotone

monocle

monophobia

unison

unique

Ask your 5th grader to tell you what each one means.  (Hint–they have notes in their spirals)
